Dalarwen

Idyllic, off-grid holiday cottage at Llyn Brianne

About

Situated on the shores of Llyn Brianne reservoir near the border between Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion; Dalarwen is an idyllic, traditional Welsh farmhouse. Fully off-grid, there are no neighbours; telephone; mobile-phone signal or other distractions. Perfect for getting away from it all. All of our electricity is generated on-site using solar panels with a backup generator and the water is sourced from a private spring.

Dalarwen has five bedrooms to sleep nine, three of which have lake views: two doubles; two twins (one with bunk-beds); and one single. All bed linen and towels are provided. There are two bathrooms with showers, plus an extra wash-room downstairs. All hot water is provided by the Oil Range in the Kitchen with an immersion heater for backup. Downstairs there is a basic Kitchen with the Oil Range and a Gas Cooker as well. There is workspace and enough pots, pans, crockery and utensils for 9 people. There is also a Fridge with Freezer compartment and cold storage in the back lobby. The spacious living room contains a wood burning stove set in a large inglenook fireplace, and we have a large dining room and conservatory. Logs for the wood-burner are provided free in a lean-to outside. Outside there is a lawn and sitting-out area directly overlooking the lake.

There is plenty of entertainment provided for rainy days in the form of books; jigsaws; board-games and even an electric piano.

Please Note, Dalarwen is very remote: We have no mains water or electricity and our solar panels and generator can not cope with very high demands, although there will be more than ample for basic needs such as lighting, hot water, battery chargers etc. Also the Spring water is not treated and you may wish to bring your own drinking water.
